My family

My husband David is a program manger for the Colorado Department of Reclamation and Mining, which regulates mining activities throughout the state. My son, Sean, is 27 and is the Web Editor for Westword. My daughter, Lauren, is 22 and is a student at the University of Colorado at Denver. My family also includes, four, formerly feral, cats.

My favorite place in town to hang out:

My favorite places in town are La Fonda and the flowerbed in my front yard. I live along a major strolling, dog walking, and biking route. It’s a wonderful place to meet people and chat about the weather, weeds, and what’s up in the neighborhood.

My favorite thing to cook:

Late summer to early fall is my favorite time of year. I love to bake pizza with fresh basil, eggplant, and tomatoes, all harvested from my garden.

My interests and hobbies:

I volunteer for a wide variety of groups that work to conserve our natural resources. I also trap and alter neighborhood feral cats. When I catch kittens, I tame them and find them homes. Otherwise, you can usually find me working in the garden or meandering through area open space parks with my family.
